i would like to know the proper way to remove a kernel from my system.i currently have 4 kernels installed on my system. 2.6.24  .25  .25r1  .26  i want to keep 2.6.26 amd 2.6.25.at the time of this writing my system had all updates using equo.i am running sabayon 3.5 basic system info is in my signature,if more is needed just let me know.

You could do it manually, which would require removing all of this for each kernel version you want removed:

/boot/initramfs-genkernel
/boot/kernel-genkernel
/boot/System.map-genkernel

plus all the grub entries in /boot/grub/grub.conf

Plus all the entries in this location for each kernel:

/usr/src/linux

Plus all of these module locations:

/lib/modules

OR

You can do it the easy way (as root) for each kernel to remove:

equo remove kernel-version
